Bristol Met staff celebrate former student’s success

Staff from Bristol Metropolitan Academy (BMA) were delighted to attend a special performance at the historic Bristol Old Vic, where former student Kiran Ray Williams took to the stage on his home ground.
Dave Vince and Meesh Vince described it as an ‘absolute privilege’ to watch Kiran perform in The Complete Works of Shakespeare: Abridged, a fast-paced and comedic production that had the audience thoroughly entertained.
The show proved to be a particular highlight for colleagues from the English department, who described it as a ‘must-see’.
The evening was made even more special by the strong turnout of BMA alumni, many of whom returned to support Kiran and celebrate his achievements.
Reflecting on the performance, Meesh Vince said: “He was just incredible! I can’t believe I was teaching my Year 8s the exact scene from Romeo and Juliet that Kiran performed, it took me back a decade. I truly had a bit of a ‘gulp’ moment.”
Kiran’s success is a source of great pride for the BMA community, showcasing the lasting impact of the academy’s drama programme and inspiring current students to pursue their own creative ambitions.
