Bristol Metropolitan Academy is a non-selective Academy. All places are free of charge.
Consultation on the Draft Admissions Policy for Bristol Metropolitan Academy 2027-2028
Admissions authorities are required to consult on their admission arrangements whenever a change to the arrangements are proposed, or if no changes are proposed, every 7 years. As such, the Cabot Learning Federation is consulting on the admissions arrangements for Bristol Metropolitan Academy, for students joining from September 2027.
The consultation period will run from 19 December 2025 to 31 January 2026 (minimum of 6 weeks)
Bristol Metropolitan Academy is a secondary academy without post-16 provision. The academy is consulting as they are implementing a new admissions policy for students joining the school from September 2027.

Year 7 Applications

If you are a parent or carer of a child in Year 6 and wish to apply for a place at Bristol Met for the following September you will need to complete the common application form and return it to the admissions section at Bristol City Council.

The Academy has an agreed admission number of 180 pupils for all year groups.
Where the number of applications for admission is greater than the published admissions number, applications will be considered against the criteria set out in our Admissions Policy
Parents will have the right of appeal to an Independent Appeal Panel if they are dissatisfied with an admission decision of the Academy. The Appeal Panel will be independent of the Academy. The arrangements for Appeals will be in line with the Code of Practice on School Admission Appeals published by the Department for Education and Skills as it applies to Foundation and Voluntary Aided schools.
