Bristol Met students deliver a magical performance of Frozen

Bristol Metropolitans Academy’s Drama Met Mastery programme culminated in a truly outstanding production of Disney’s Frozen, the Broadway and West End smash hit, following 10 months of dedicated rehearsals.
Directed by Meesh Vince and Lucie Morrish, the production showcased the remarkable talent, commitment and resilience of approximately 70 students across four casts, including two Year 7 and two Year 8 ensembles.
Leading roles were shared by Maya Lord and Daisy Porter (Year 7 Annas), Neve Jones and Aaliyah Brooker (Year 8 Annas), Jasmine Phillips and Yoali Villierezz (Year 7 Elsas), and Flora Sykes-Jerrold and Elsa Jackson Azevedo (Year 8 Elsas).
Supported by a dedicated Year 9 technical crew, students performed for audiences of Bristol Metropolitans Academy students, parents, carers and friends, as well as in a special performance for Pupil Premium (PP) students.
The production was widely praised as ‘magical’, ‘absolutely amazing’, and ‘like watching a full school production’.
Audiences and staff particularly celebrated its highly-inclusive nature, with cast members representing PP, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and English as an Additional Language (EAL) cohorts.
The extraordinary resilience of the performers was also recognised, with students delivering exceptional performances while rehearsing and performing in multiple layers of costume throughout the summer heatwave.
The production was a shining example of creativity, teamwork, inclusivity and excellence, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who attended.
Michelle Lambert-Vince, MET Productions and Drama Programme Leader, said: “This production has been an incredible journey for every student involved.
“Over the past 10 months, they have shown outstanding dedication, courage and teamwork, growing in confidence with every rehearsal. Watching them bring Frozen to life with such professionalism, creativity and passion has been a privilege.
“I couldn’t be prouder of what they have achieved, and the way they embraced every challenge while creating a truly inclusive production that celebrated the talents of every member of the cast and crew.”
